At the Thierry Mugler runway show in New York, Lady Gaga and her club clothes style were the inspiration for the show. Designer Nicola Formichetti created a captivating show based around the Gaga theme that left editors walking out laughing and models having a great time as well. The clothes were shiny and sexy, with sculptural shoulders that were sharp enough to be used as weapons. At Gareth Pugh, the nightclub vibe also ruled the runway.
He mixed in zipper crosses, geodesic leather armor plating and golden pharaoh robes to add a surprising element of color to the gothy London look. The finale was the most amazing part of the show, as the lights were turned down and the clothes felt even more in their element.
When you are going out to a club, you want to plan your outfit carefully so you don't end up getting there and regretting your choice of clothing. Women have lots of choices when it comes to club clothes, so it should be something that fits your personal style. Some options for a more dressy look are a skirt with a stylish top, or a dress. These are fun for dancing as they will swirl around you as you move.
For a more casual look, wear your favourite jeans with a trendy top. Whether dressy or casual, bright colours and luxe fabrics are highly recommended. Sparkly jewellery or clothing accents will look great under club lights. Shoes can be a tough call. If you plan on doing a lot of dancing, sky-high heels will probably leave you in pain by the end of the night. So aim for low heels or flats with a lot of style, or if you aren't much of a dancer, then the high heels can look great with any outfit.
